Full-Time Emergency Department Physician – Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing, ON
Sensenbrenner Hospital is a modern, fully accredited 68-bed teaching hospital serving the community of Kapuskasing (population 8,600) and a regional catchment area of approximately 11,000. Located in the heart of Northern Ontario, Kapuskasing combines the charm of a close-knit community with the amenities of larger urban centres, set against a backdrop of stunning natural beauty—perfect for year-round outdoor recreation.
We are seeking a full-time Emergency Department physician to join our supportive and collaborative team.

Team-Based Environment:
Join a dedicated and experienced medical team where collaboration and peer support are central. Our medical staff includes:
  • 3 General Surgeons
  • 2 GP Anesthetists
  • 1 General Internist
  • 8 Family Physicians (2 with OB coverage)

You’ll also have support from a dedicated Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department Monday to Friday and a Hospitalist available daily from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM for admissions. After-hours admissions are managed by Emergency physicians until the Hospitalist resumes care in the morning.


Comprehensive Facilities & Services:
  • Diagnostic Imaging (including CT)
  • Laboratory services
  • ECG
  • Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy & Respiratory Therapy
  • Chemotherapy
  • Virtual Critical Care for critically ill patients

For advanced specialty care, we maintain strong partnerships with:
  • Timmins and District Hospital (Ortho, ENT, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry)
  • Health Sciences North and CritiCall Ontario

Flexible Shift Options:
  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • 24-Hour Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM

Our ED sees approximately 30 patients per 24-hour shift, with occasional higher volumes on busier days.
