The Emergency Department at the Brantford General Hospital is a high volume community Emergency Department with over 53,000 visits per year. It is a centre of excellence for POCUS training and teaching along with being a McMaster University Mac-CARE teaching site for the Grand Erie Six Nations and hosts its own Emergency Medicine SIM program.
We are currently recruiting for Associate and Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our Brantford General Hospital Emergency Department. This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. Interested physicians must have independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and a CCFP Emergency Medicine (EM) certification or an emergency medicine fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent (e.g. American Board). Successful candidates will also need advanced ultrasound training. Candidates who do not have an EM certification or emergency medicine fellowship but have equivalent level experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
As a McMaster University Mac-CARE teaching site for the Grand Erie Six Nations, the successful candidate would be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners thus excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an interprofessional care model are also essential.
The Brantford General Hospital Emergency Department serves a high population of indigenous persons in the region; to support this we are committed to recruiting and retaining indigenous physicians or physicians with experience and an interest in caring for indigenous persons.
