Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH) in Kenora, Ontario is a 75-bed fully accredited community hospital located on the northern shores of beautiful Lake of the Woods. As the second largest health centre in Northwestern Ontario, Kenora provides services to approx. 70,000 people in the Kenora area and neighboring communities. LWDH is only a 2-hour drive from Winnipeg, Manitoba and is a teaching hospital partnered with the All Nations Health Partners, hosting medical and interprofessional students and residents both in our IM program and throughout the hospital.

Practice Profile:
You will gain extensive experience working in our supportive, collaborative, blended-model of inpatient and outpatient care. You will have ample opportunity to build on your expertise by managing every medical subspecialty as the only Internal Medicine Specialist service in town !
• MRP to 4-bed Level 2 closed ICU with as needed consults to 45-bed Acute & Chronic care wings, 11-bed ED, 17-bed
Psychiatry dept
• Rapid Assessment clinic and overnight (home-based) call
• Outpatient IM clinic on alternate weeks (hospital-based)
• Research and Teaching opportunity through NOSM
Enjoy a shared, rotating call schedule and weekly service model that includes 2 weeks on/1 week off (1-week inpatient/call; 1 week outpatient clinic; 1 week off) with a very generous compensation that outcompetes most positions across the country (APP within top quarter of salary range).

Qualifications:
• CPSO Independent registration with or eligible for

• approx. 20,000 annual ER visits (ECG, EKG, Stress Testing, Holter Monitor, Pacemaker, Dialysis unit; 24/7 Lab, respiratory therapy
and diagnostic imaging – including ultrasound & CT scanner, On-site Radiologist, Rehabilitation department (Physiotherapy, OT,
SLP), 17-bed Schedule 1 facility with on-site Psychiatry
• Referral and support from Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, Winnipeg Health Sciences Center and St. Boniface General Hospital
• Tele-medicine and visiting specialist clinics (Rheumatology, Dermatology, Nephrology)
• After hours/on-call: ER Backup, Hospitalist, Psychiatrist, Internist, Surgeon, Anesthetist, Obstetrics, DI/Radiology, Respiratory
