We are seeking a Hospitalist Locum to provide coverage from December 25, 2026 to January 1, 2027. (Must be CPSO Certified)
Compensation
  • Enhanced Holiday Stipend: $10,000
  • 100% Fee-for-Service Billings, including all applicable E-Codes estimated between $ 6,000 - $ 13,000 
  • Daily Honorarium: $386.44 per day (including travel days) totaling $3,477.96 through the NSLP Northern Specialist Locum Program.
  • Total estimated income for the week; between $ 20,477.96 - $ 27,477.96
  • Travel and accommodations reimbursed as per the NSLP Northern Specialist Locum Program guidelines.
  • Fully furnished apartments across the parking lot of the hospital that are key code operated at a cost to you but then reimbursed by NSLP.
Practice Details
  • Inpatient Hospitalist coverage
  • Hospitalist are on call from Friday 8:00 to the following Friday at 8:00 for ward, special care and hospice patients;
  • Hospitalist are on call as surgical assist from Friday 8:00 to the following Friday at 8:00 for non-elective surgeries (this is optional);
  • Hospitalists will occasionally cover the Continuing Care Unit over the weekend;
  • Hospitalist are responsible for admissions from 8:00 until 17:00. Admissions in the evenings are typically covered by the Emergency Department Physician on call;
  • Typical census is between 20-25 patients (approximately 5 of these patients are ALC);
  • Acuity of Special Care Unit (SCU) patients range from short-term telemetry monitoring to mechanical ventilation;
  • SCU patients requiring intubation are typically transferred to Health Science North in Sudbury, Ontario after stabilization.
