The Elliot Lake Family Health Team (ELFHT) is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and collaborative Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator (RRT/CRE) to join our interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
The ELFHT provides comprehensive primary health care services including chronic disease management, health promotion, disease prevention, and mental health support to rostered and unattached patients in Elliot Lake and surrounding communities. Our collaborative team-based model supports innovative, patient-centered care in a welcoming Northern Ontario community.

About the Role
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator (RRT/CRE) will provide comprehensive lung health assessment, education, treatment support, and chronic disease management for patients and their families/caregivers.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and interdisciplinary health professionals to support patients in achieving optimal respiratory health outcomes and navigating appropriate community resources and services.
The RRT/CRE will also contribute to community-based lung health initiatives, patient education, and quality improvement activities aligned with the goals of the Family Health Team.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
• Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) designation, or willingness to obtain certification
• Experience working within a community, primary care, or interdisciplinary healthcare setting
• Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills
• Demonstrated ability to support patients with chronic respiratory conditions and those at risk for functional decline
• Knowledge of evidence-based respiratory care practices and chronic disease management
• Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and patient-centered care
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and support self-management strategies
• Provide patient and caregiver education using evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Support preventative care initiatives and chronic disease management programs
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans within the electronic medical record
• Participate in community outreach, education, and health promotion initiatives
• Assist patients in navigating healthcare and community support services
• Contribute to program development, evaluation, and quality improvement activities
